Lately i have been thinking quite a bit of the energy of different,
countries, places, areas.
I believe what make up the energy is what is on the ground,
in the ground, the air, nature and of course the human input.
Once driving from Orlando back to Miami we passed by Lake Okeechobee-known at various times throughout history as
Laguna del Espiritu Santo, Mayaimi, and Lake Mayaco.
from two Seminole Indian words meaning "big water"--
located in the center of Florida.
We had recently moved to Florida so I knew little to nothing about its history, but passing by this area, with my husband driving and our kids in the back seat, I suddenly, without any obvious reason started to cry violently,
from the deepest darkest corner of my soul.
The only thing I could force out of myself to calm the family was that I am not crying for myself, I am crying for Mother Earth.
It was the deepest, saddest most heart breaking emotions pouring out of me,
and to this I needed an explanation.
When I looked for information I found out that humans had exploited, manipulated and changed the natural flow of the waterways in the area
(In the early days of the Lake, there were no waterways leading
to or from the lake.
When the lake overflowed, the water would stream south
into the area that is now known as the Everglades.
This was the natural pattern before man stepped in and
starting building dams and locks, changing the natural flow of nature.)
Anyway coming back to my initial thought,
the areas original form and material in combination with the human impact
is what makes up the energy of a place,
the way it is meant to be by nature and its flow,
I can imagine this is what the ancient Asian knowledge of
Feng shui is working with.
This difference in a place/country's energy was to me very obvious
when I first traveled from US to Japan.
I realized how on guard, threatened and uneasy I all the time feel in US, compared to how I did not feel attacked energitically at all in Japan.
Here I talk about the actual energy surrounding you,
not the way humans are interacting,
something in the air, something non touchable
To top the opposites off, I felt when I landed in Oahu Hawaii,
like a huge motherly and nurturing embrace surrounded me,
a totally different kind of energy, a totally different story.
Everything has consequences and all and everything need
to be honored and respected,
if we have this in mind,
the human race and Mother Earth
can and will flourish together in peace and harmony.
