I have a very unscientific theory that Chilli pepper is good to heal stomach ulcers, sounds contradictory I know.
Once (like 20 years ago!) I read about a university in Singapore which had found a link between capsicum and reversing ulcers, unfortunatley now I cannot find the article to back my claims.
Instead I back it up with experience.
I encountered stomach ulcers early, for many years I had to live with the pain, as no "normal" medication helped.
Living in Asia I ate a lot of food with chilli, at first I had some concerns, but as I love spicy food I kept eating the chilli peppers. Time went by, and the stomach pain diminished, until a point when it actually was gone. And I mean gone, not just hiding the symptoms, up until this day, I am still surprised, it did feel like a miracle, I do believe in miracles but, honestly I believe in this case it was much thanks to the red peppers.
What a lovely combo; herbs and miracles.
Normally you do not need much, a pinch a day will help.
For some clients with weak constitutions, I add a few drops of capsicum to their personalized herbal tincture, and it has proven to work really well, both for the stomach, and to strengthen the system in general.
Part of the explanation can be that the Chilli pepper opens up the tissues in the body to an increased blood flow, and this increased circulation is moving body fluids, and putting things in its right place in the system.
Adding to my unscientific theory is that there is some kind of enzym in the capsicum which is needed to counteract the ulcer...My search for answers is ongoing.
