Oil pulling, also known as "kavala" or "gundusha," is an ancient Ayurvedic dental technique that involves swishing a tablespoon of oil in your mouth on an empty stomach for around 20 minutes.
It supposedly draws out toxins in your body, primarily to improve oral health but also to improve your overall health.
Most microorganisms inhabiting the mouth consist of a single cell.
Cells are covered with a lipid (fatty) membrane, which is the cell’s skin. When these cells come into contact with oil, “a fat,” they naturally adhere to each other.
There is no question that oil pulling lessens the bacterial load in the mouth. And as we all know, the mouth is the gateway to the body.
Whiter teeth • Cavity and gingivitis prevention • Better breath • Stronger teeth and gums • Less jaw pain , sleep problems and sinus issues • Alleviation of headaches, hangovers and skin issues.
In the morning, before breakfast on an empty stomach you take one tablespoon oil - sesame seed, coconut or olive oil are my preferences - in the mouth but do not swallow it.
Move Oil Slowly in the mouth as rinsing or swishing fifteen to twenty minutes. This process makes oil thoroughly mixed with saliva. Swishing activates the enzymes and the enzymes help draw toxins out of the blood. The oil must not be swallowed, for it has become toxic.
A natural holistic alternative to harsh chemicals in most mouthwashes.
Cloves (Sygizium aromaticum) are the "flower buds" from an evergreen rain-forest tree native to Indonesia, and an excellent source of manganese, a very good source of vitamin K and dietary fiber, and a good source of iron, magnesium, and calcium.
Cloves has local anesthetic and antiseptic properties, and can improve the digestion power by increasing gastro-intestinal enzyme secretion.
Cloves may also relieve upper respiratory infections. Ayurveda suggests making a tea to lessen, or prevent, colds and flu. It is also used as an expectorant, making it easier to cough up phlegm. Cloves are a natural painkiller and also attack germs, so they'll help you get rid of that sore throat.
Use clove oil to massage sore muscles; some also use it for arthritis and rheumatism.
A useful but often forgotten piece of heaven.
The oldest known tree to be alive today,
lives in Sweden, and is almost 10,000 years old.
Old Tjikko, a 9,550-year-old Norway spruce (Picea abies),is the oldest known living individual tree,
located in Fulufjället National Park, Dalarna, Sweden.
10.000 years is quite some time to stand with your roots grounded and branches in the air.
