I sometimes get questions in regards how to care for acne prone skin. To me this is a complex matter as the skin is the last resort for the body to get rid of toxins, and this can cause acne and/or eczema.
With this we also need to take into consideration if there are any kind of food sensitivites. To me milk, cheese and other milk based products are a culprit for my skin to break out. If that comes from me actually being allergic/sensitive to milk or it rather is the way the milk is produced and what the cows have in their systems is up for debate, but knowing my sensitivity I stay clear from it most of the time.
Milk being one example, it can really be anything we react to, I know people having skin reactions to spicy food, so what we first need to figure out is if there is anything of this behind the problem.
Next step is to keep ourselves fresh inside and out, herbal teas being a pleasant and healthy way to keep ourselves in top condition. Green tea with kombucha is one of my favorites, another one rooibos with cinnamon, ginger and cardamom and of course half a lemon first thing every morning in a glass of crystal clear blessed water.
When it comes to skin care most important is to listen to the different needs of your skin, sometimes it is more humid, then you may need to clean more and deeper and use a lighter moisturizer, if cold and dry climate we might have to go easy with to much, and to deep cleaning, and use a heavier moisturizer.
When you clean your face, with oil-based or water-based cleanser, always rinse thoroughly and pat dry. To close the pores, and remove the last impurities, use toner or floral water to finish.
Depending on need and where you live, use a gentle scrub/mask to lightly polish the skin and deep clean, I can maximum do this once a week, often less, as my skin is sensitive and thin.
